Single Missing Teeth
Missing teeth can have a negative impact on your smile, on your dental health and your overall health as well. anytime teeth are missing the adjacent teeth start shifting towards the missing space causing wear and loss of bone and gum around the area. The longer the space is missing the more difficult it becomes to restore the lost tissue and replace the lost space with either implants or a bridge.
Using dental implants to replace a single missing tooth is often the best alternative to replacing the space with a bridge because it prevents compromising healthy adjacent teeth.
In case if single missing teeth the implant serves as a replacement for the root of the missing tooth. Once the implant heals or integrates with the jaw bone, then a small post called “abutment” is placed on the implant and a crown is placed on the abutment.
The implant crown looks and functions just like your natural tooth giving you the function and esthetics of a complete smile and a complete confidence.
